Looking for training to certify as a phlebotomy technician? LSSC offers accelerated phlebotomy instruction from June 22 through July 20 on the Leesburg Campus.
Phlebotomy is a fast-growing healthcare career with a median salary pay of $32,710 as of 2016 according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. It was also ranked by Fortune as one of the six fastest-growing healthcare careers that do not require a college degree.
The program consists of 20 hours of classroom instruction, where each student will complete between 10 to 20 successful venipunctures and learn how to collect blood samples, conduct laboratory testing, and learn basic laboratory protocol.
Successful completion of this course will allow students to take the second part of the training in fall. Successful completion of both courses entitles the participant to apply to take the nationally approved certification examination provided by the American Society of Phlebotomy Technicians (ASPT).

The class fee is $390.
