Past District Governor (PDG), Al Becker installed Cub Lion Juan Cardenas, 24, a U.S. Marine. His sponsor was King Lion, Charlie Neville.
The Club experienced excellent growth under Charlie Neville’s three years as King Lion and is proud of all the care and support he has given to our community, his Club, as well as District 35-0.
Lion Charlie’s work is not likely to diminish as he has just accepted the role of Region Chair, an even bigger job than President. Lion Russ Hope proudly shows off his marksmanship with his son, David Hope visiting from Montana for his Mom and Dad’s 80th birthday and their 55th wedding anniversary.
The Lions are looking for helpers and new Lions and invite anyone interested in becoming a Lion to check them out at IHOP on the second and fourth Thursdays, 6 pm. Call President Dan Strauss for information at (717) 278-7437. The general public is invited to their gun range across from Tractor Supply on SR 50 in Groveland on the second, third and fourth Saturday mornings, 8am – 12 pm. All proceeds to go to their numerous charities.
On May 28th, the Club lost a good Lion and friend, John Wert after a very long struggle with cancer. John died at home under the care of wife, Marcee and Hospice. John’s internment and private services were held in New Jersey. The Club extends their love and sympathy to Marcee and family.
