Eleven-year-old Nate “The Great” Jackson likes country music and roller coasters. His parents say he always has a smile on his face and loves life.  He is also a brave young autistic boy who has, since birth, battled a variety of health issues including heart and kidney problems, and most recently post-transplant lymphoma cancer.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation grants wishes to kids with life-threatening medical conditions, providing them an amazing experience, a dream come true.  On Thursday, June 15, Nate’s family brought him to his favorite restaurant, Texas Roadhouse, for the surprise Make-A-Wish Reveal dinner and party.  He met Andy the Armadillo and was told that he and his family will be going to Dollywood!  Nate can’t wait.

On Saturday, June 17, a Poker Run & Dinner will be held in support of Nate.  Registration is at 9 am; kick off at 10:30 am. Entry fee is $15 per bike, $10 for 2nd rider (includes dinner plate).  The run will start at South Lake Moose Lodge, 17335 US 27, Minneola, with stops at Little Lake Harris Pub, Eustis Moose Lodge, JJ’s Sorrento, and Big Dog’s. Riders will return to South Lake Moose Lodge by 3:30 pm.  The ride is open to everyone including motorcycles, classic cars, and Jeeps.  Bubba takes the stage at 2:30 pm and Rob Nichols will continue the live music at 4:30 pm.  Dinner for non-riders is $8.
