To their credit, Lake County Animal Services called us and begged for this little girl to be saved. She was beaten up and had lacerations to the bone. This was a sad situation and she was in need of emergency surgery.

Thankfully the girls at LCAS did not give up on her and we took her straight to our wonderful vet Atlas Pet Clinic who agreed to drop everything on a Friday and attend to her surgical needs. They even ran late for their own scheduled company dinner reservations! We cannot thank everyone enough for stepping up to save Elsa and to our volunteers (Paige & Donna) who went above and beyond to help RTR with all of the extra leg work and care that went into Elsa, we could have never saved her without the 2 of you!! Lastly, to our wonderful donors who stepped up and chipped in for her care, we are grateful! Elsa now needs a home and we hope that you will consider her for your family!

She is surprisingly sweet and calm given what she had to endure at the hands of some horrible human. We all love Elsa and want to show her that not all people are bad….which she already seems to know! She is a terrier mix and is about 44lbs. She is calm and quiet and just wants to be with people! Stop to help hurt or injured animals like Elsa, if a good Samaritan had not brought her in she would have surely died from her wounds. Call Animal Services if you are fearful but please do not leave them to their own devices.
