Ray’s Report – The Councilman Shares Events and New Businesses in the Growing Community

Business Update 

McKenley Rae, a new clothing, accessory and shoe boutique for women and children will locate at 701 Montrose Street. Dr. Perez plans to transition out of the space by end of September.

This Honest Food Company,  a retail site for kitchen/cooking products and cooking school, downtown Clermont (http://www.thishonestfood.com/the-teaching-kitchen/)

Coffee Shop of Horrors, a coffee shop currently in Montverde, will locate on the top floor of 795 Montrose Street (http://www.coffeeshopofhorrors.com/)

Mid Century Metropolis, 1 Westgate Plaza in front of the bowling alley on SR50, has opened. They sell mid-century vintage furniture/items.

Coliseum Comics, the largest comics and collectibles retailer in the Southeast, has opened at 1730 East Highway 50 (In the Home Depot shopping Ctr. facing SR50)

Windu’s Comics has opened at 194 US Hwy 27 (near the Citrus Tower)

Marco’s Pizza is now open at 2620 E. Hwy 50  (Hancock Road)

Xelltron Thrift Store, is now open at 1205 Bowman Street (corner of Bowman and Hwy 50)

All Vet’s Protection (Hired Armed Security) is now open at 945 10th St. (between W. Broom and West Desoto St.)

Sweet, a candy shop, will not be opening a shop in Downtown Clermont.

Sports Update

The Jordan Women’s National Soccer Team is currently training at the National Training Center (NTC) for the next two weeks.

September 3-20 – The Danish National Team will be in Clermont in preparation for the October World Rowing Championships at Benderson Park in Sarasota.

October 18-21 – Team USA Masters Synchronized Swimming Championships will take       place at the NTC.
