Season Opening at Clermont Performing Arts Center

The Clermont Performing Arts Center will launch its 2017-2018 Season with a Gala on Saturday, October 14.  Complimentary hors-d’oeuvres and a signature drink will be offered to each ticketholder as well pre-show entertainment by local singing duo FUNKY FAVORITES. The Broadway Boys, a group of Broadway veterans (no relation to Clermont Chief of Police Charles Broadway) will highlight the evening’s gala.

The Broadway Boys have dozens of Broadway credits under their collective belts.  By adding elements of pop/funk/gospel/jazz to traditional show tunes, The Broadway Boys have redefined the musical theater genre, representing such shows as THE BOOK OF MORMON, WICKED, HAMILTON, KINKY BOOTS, MOTOWN, RENT, JERSEY BOYS, MAMMA MIA, MARY POPPINS, HAIR, FUN HOME, ROCK OF AGES, HAIRSPRAY, ONCE, and many more.

The Broadway Boys have toured the country, playing venues large and small, and have performed at many corporate events and on many radio shows as well.  They have performed on Americas Got Talent and The TODAY Show. Their album, “Lullaby of Broadway,” debuted at #6 on the iTunes singer/songwriter chart.

“We are looking forward to sharing this evening of food and fun with the Clermont community,” said Gary DeMumbrum, Theater Operations Manager for the City of Clermont.  “The reason we exist is to bring the arts to the Clermont Community.  The Broadway Boys will be a fantastic way to launch our exciting 2017-2018 Season.”

Tickets start at $45 and can be purchased online and at the box office.  More information is available by calling 352-394-4800 and by visiting PerformingArtsCenter.
