Mayor Gail Ash was the guest speaker at the Clermont Woman’s Club October meeting. She gave an update on new businesses and events in Clermont.
The Mayor said that Clermont is providing a wide array offerings to prospective residents and visitors. Clermont is expecting 2,000 athletes from around the world to attend the 35th annual Great Floridian Triathlon this month on October 21-22. The US Masters National Championship in Synchronized Swimming will be at the National Training Center on Oct.18th. New restaurants and shops are also coming to the city.
The Woman’s Club is preparing for its annual fundraiser for local charities and high school scholarships. The annual luncheon and fashion show, Cruising For Fashion, will be held on October 27, at the Wesley Center at the Methodist Church on State Road 50 and 7th Street. Doors open at 11 am for shopping with Accessories and More of Sarasota for beautiful outfits, handbags and jewelry.
There will be 42 raffle baskets donated with gifts from local merchants and two gift trees holding gift certificates from local restaurants and shops worth $500 each. CWC models will begin the show at 11:30 am, followed by a delicious buffet, lunch prepared by Chef David.
There will be door prizes, a silent auction featuring a 7-day stay at The Las Vegas Jockey Club, a wine tasting party for you and 12 friends, Disney World Hopper tickets, local artist’s paintings, a Kings Ridge Golf Outing for four, a Trust package, fine jewelry and more.
