Beta Theta, a chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha service organization, sponsors an annual Mardi Gras-themed fundraiser and donates all proceeds to local charities, organizations, and high school scholarships. The 2017 event raised over $15,000. Because of the success of the fundraiser, Michelle Delaney, a member of Beta Theta, presented Lora Whetro of Building Blocks Ministries with a monetary contribution in support of its involvement in the community.
Building Blocks Ministries is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Its mission is to serve individuals with developmental disabilities and their families to dream, believe, and achieve through advocacy, coalition building, and job and life skills training in a safe and trusted environment. It has been serving the community since 2006 and is located at 548 S. Highway 27, Suites B&C, Minneola.
