Building Blocks Ministry’s mission is to serve individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. In keeping with that mission, the organization will be kicking off a new program this year.

The “Day Away Program” will provide respite for families, caregivers, and group home providers of adults with developmental disabilities one Saturday a month, so caregivers have a few hours to rest or take care of personal things. Blocks Day Away Program launched on Saturday, February 17. 

“Day Away” will be held at Building Blocks Ministries located at 548 S. Highway 27, Suite C, in Minneola, from 8:30 am – 1:30 pm. The day will include themed activities, crafts, and lunch.

Day Away is open to adults with developmental disabilities who are self sufficient,  do not require medication administration, have no self-injurious behaviors or severe behaviors.  The “Day Away Program” is a private pay model with a monthly fee of $30.00. Registration and payment must be received one week before a monthly event.

The dates for 2018 “Day Away” are as follows: February 17, March 17, April 21, May 19, June 16, July 21, August 18, September 15, October 20, November 17, and December 15.

In order for the program to operate each month, there must be a minimum of 5 attendees. Cancellation will be announced 2 days prior to day of events by phone call and or emails. Refunds will be issued when cancellation occurs.
