Buy someone flowers for Valentine’s Day and the flowers wither and die eventually. Buy a box of chocolates and the calories follow. But if you buy a brick from the Historic Village circular walkway dedicated to that loved one, it will last forever! Bricks are only $50.00. Simply call the Village at 352-593-8496 and leave a message for Jim Briggs. Jim will get with you to arrange for your own special message.
After your brick is in place, you can come to the Village with that special someone and show them how much you care! While you are there on a Friday between 1pm and 3 pm or a Saturday or Sunday between 1 pm & 4 pm, you can also tour the Historic Village, a collection of historic buildings and replicas dedicated to giving people the opportunity to see what life was like in Lake County over 100 years ago. ,
The Village is conveniently located at 490 West Ave., Clermont; not far from the historic downtown shopping district. Admission to the Village is free; however, a donation of $2.00 per adult is requested. If you would like to tour the Village with a group at a time when the Village is not regularly scheduled to be open, call and leave a message for the Village Manager, Roxanne Brown, at 352-593-8496 and she will get with you to make arrangements.
If you are interested in history in general or the history of Lake County in particular, contact the South Lake County Historical Society by going to their website, ClermontVillage.org; by calling Roxanne Brown, Village Manager, at 352-593-8496; or by attending a membership meetings which are held on the second Monday of the month at 7 pm in the Train Depot in the Historic Village. The next meeting is on February 12.
