Tomoka Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) held its annual student awards program on Friday, February 2, at Cooper Memorial Library. Beverly Oyler, Regent welcomed students, teachers, family and DAR Tomoka members to the annual ceremony.

Awards were presented to students for American History essays, Christopher Columbus essays, Outstanding American History Student Awards and Good Citizen Awards and the Elaine Beebe Scholarship to Lake Sumter State College.

The Elaine Beebe Scholarship was presented to

  • Haley Stevens. Haley is majoring in elementary education at Lake Sumter State College.

The Good Citizen Award was presented to

  • Nolan Rudolph, a senior at Lake Minneola High School
