Get involved in the political process

Are you interested in running for City Council? Residents must file their paperwork within a specified timeframe to qualify. Filing dates are different from city to city.

In the cities of Clermont and Groveland, qualifying begins on Monday, June 18 at 12 pm and closes on Friday, June 22, at 12 pm.

In Mascotte and Minneola, qualifying dates are scheduled in early August.

You may not want to run for public office but, the most important part of the process is to VOTE!  Election Day is November 6.

CLERMONT (two-year term)

Seats #1, #3, and #5 will be available and are currently held by:

City Council Member Seat 1 (Two Year Term) – Tim Bates
City Council Member Seat 3 (Two Year Term) – Mayor Gail Ash
City Council Member Seat 5 (Two Year Term) – Diane Travis

Montverde uses a caucus-type selection. There is no secret ballot. Simply explained, voters gather and elect a candidate. Montverde’s caucus is scheduled on August 14.
