The Clermont Battalion of the U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps (USNSCC) recently received a generous donation from the Kiwanis Club of South Lake to help kids attend summer training programs. Kiwanis members Gerry Ash and David Peck, who is also a Sea Cadet instructor, presented the donation.
“Kids Need Kiwanis” is Kiwanis International’s brand campaign. The goal of the campaign is to make it clear that Kiwanis serves children and that they have fun together. “Kids Need Kiwanis” is supporting the Sea Cadet scholarship program, which is an example of how our club can meet a need in our community,” stated Mr. Ash, the current president of the Kiwanis Club of South Lake.
The USNSCC is a federally chartered non-profit youth organization for young people, ages 11 through 17. The program provides cadets with not only the motivation and encouragement to pursue their goals, but also concrete assistance in achieving them.
