The Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Auxiliary of Post 5277 will be hosting a special Gold Star Luncheon to honor and recognize the sacrifices of Gold Star families in the area. This heartfelt event will take place on the last Sunday of September, (September 29) a day nationally recognized as Gold Star Family Day, to remember those who have lost loved ones while they were on active duty serving in the military.
Gold Star mothers and families are a unique group of individuals who have paid the ultimate price for our country’s freedom. They are the ones left behind when a loved one, often a son, daughter, spouse, or sibling, has given their life in defense of our nation while serving on foreign soils. The Gold Star designation is a symbol of honor and sacrifice, reflecting the profound loss endured by these families.
The luncheon will provide an opportunity for the community to come together and show their deep respect and appreciation for these families, ensuring their loved ones’ memories live on in the hearts of all who benefit from the freedoms they secured.
The VFW Auxiliary invites all local Gold Star families and community members to join in this important event, acknowledging the heroism and sacrifice that these families represent.
