Guru Indian Restaurant appreciates the important values of our Clermont Historical Society as well as the valuable community family events, interactive educational programs and historical presentations created at the Clermont Historic Village. To help honor the services of our Clermont Historical Society; Uday and Pam Kadam of Guru Indian Restaurant recently made a large donation to support its future community contributions.
Guru Indian Restaurant owner Uday Kadam noted, “We remain committed to support our local Clermont Police, Fire Department, First Responders, and many of our local charitable non-profit organizations who champion so many good causes. We hope this donation will serve as an example for other businesses to reach out in support of our Clermont Historic Society.” They have recently reached out to give back and support the Greater Clermont Cancer Society, the Frankie Valente Scholarship Fund, and many others.
Clermont Historical Society President James Briggs shared, “We really appreciate the very generous donation the Kadams and Guru Indian Restaurant as a local small business, leading the way to helping us preserve and promote the rich history we have here in Clermont and South Lake County.”
As a strong advocate for the Clermont Historical Society, Clermont Mayor Tim Murry was on hand for the Guru presentation noting, “We sincerely appreciate Uday Kadam and his Guru Indian Restaurant for consistently championing so many diverse Clermont and South Lake organizations. Guru Indian Restaurant is always here to proudly share their generous support for all Clermont charitable and community programs.”
The Clermont Historic Village hosts annual community events including the People’s Choice Dessert Challenge in August and their Heritage Day Festival in November, so families can learn about South Lake County’s proud history. Their preserved historic museum structures, filled with many interesting historical artifacts include a replica of Clermont’s first one-room schoolhouse, the Clermont train depot, a WWII-era Quonset hut, the original Cooper Memorial Library, the Kern and the Townsend houses and the non-denominational Village Chapel. The Clermont Historical Society’s mission is “to preserve and maintain the history of South Lake County from the late eighteen hundreds to the end of World War II.”
Now celebrating over 10 years of success here in Clermont, Uday Kadam offers a very authentic gourmet-style Indian restaurant. With a diverse menu offering dozens of different delicious entrees, everything is always made with fresh foods, ingredients, sauces, and spices. Their unique chicken, beef, lamb, seafood, vegetable, and Biryani dishes are custom cooked to perfection for each guest.
