This comedic musical revue explores the many stages of modern love, from dating and romance to marriage and growing old, offering an entertaining and humorous look at the relationships and experiences that shape our lives.

Following the one-act musical, audiences will embark on a journey through musical theatre history during the second act, featuring select songs from classic musicals. The showcase highlights the students’ performing talents while recognizing the creativity and technical expertise of those working behind the scenes to bring the production to life.

The East Ridge community is invited to come out and support these talented students! “For eight years, we have been proud to offer complimentary passport photos to our veterans and military personnel during the month of November,” said Gary Cooney, Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court & Comptroller. “The sacrifices made by those who serve our country deserve our deepest appreciation. Providing this service is just a small token of that appreciation.”

Since starting the veterans’ appreciation event in 2019, 464 veterans have been provided free photos. To be eligible for the free photo, military personnel can present their DD-214, military identification, or have a veteran designation on their driver’s license.

Passports in Lake County are currently being processed by appointment at the following locations:

• Lake County Courthouse, 550 W. Main St., North Wing – Third Floor, Tavares
• North Lake Branch Office, 902 Avenida Central, The Villages
• South Lake Branch Office, 290 Citrus Tower Blvd., Suite 116, Clermont

The popular Halloween-themed event offers participants a chance to enjoy a scenic course around Silver Lake while supporting Lake-Sumter State College students and important College initiatives. Whether racing for a personal best, taking a leisurely walk, or simply cheering from the sidelines, attendees can expect a morning filled with fun, fitness and community spirit.

Race day registration opens at 6:30 am, with the race beginning at 8 am on the College’s Leesburg Campus. The course starts on College Drive and winds around picturesque Silver Lake.

Participants who register will receive an event T-shirt and commemorative medal, with shirts and medals guaranteed for those who register on or before Oct. 16, 2026.

Adding to the festive atmosphere, participants are encouraged to show off their Halloween creativity. Trophies will be awarded to the top three overall costume entries, making the Monster Dash as much a costume celebration as it is a race.

Proceeds from the event directly benefit Lake-Sumter State College students and College programs, helping advance educational opportunities throughout the community.

Community members who are not planning to run or walk can still get involved by volunteering to assist with race-day activities. Registration is now open, and organizers encourage participants to secure their spot early for one of the area’s most anticipated Halloween events.

The ceremony will begin at 10 am, followed by guided group tours and refreshments from 10:30 am to noon. Gates will open at 9:30 am and remain open until 6 pm.

The public is invited to attend the celebration at Tucker Ranch Holistic Health & Wellness Park and Botanical Garden, located at 100 Avalon Road in Winter Garden. Hosted by the City of Winter Garden, the event will bring together city officials, local dignitaries, and community health and construction partners to mark the opening of this new community destination.

Following the park’s groundbreaking in August 2024, construction has brought the vision for this expansive wellness and nature destination to life. The new addition offers a variety of amenities designed to encourage wellness, recreation, education, and connection with nature.

Highlights include an extensive botanical garden; The Retreat Center, featuring a 5,000-square-foot indoor venue and screened patio; and The Ranch House, which includes a demonstration kitchen and an outdoor patio with a fireplace. Visitors can also explore nature paths, a labyrinth, a trail system with exercise nodes, a boardwalk, and a covered pavilion overlooking the water.

The project also preserves a connection to the area’s history. The historic masonry arch from the former West Orange Country Club has been preserved and relocated within the park, where it now serves as the entrance to the new botanical garden.

Walking paths connect the new wellness park and botanical garden to the existing Tucker Ranch Park and Nature Preserve, creating an expanded opportunity for residents and visitors to enjoy the natural surroundings and outdoor amenities.

The City of Winter Garden invites residents and the public to join in celebrating the opening of this addition to the community’s parks and recreational offerings.
