This week’s parkrun took place in beautiful bright sunshine and crisp temperatures.  Runners got to deal with a rather brisk headwind during their last mile, but there were no complaints, considering what the weather was like at other venues around the country.  Ninety-nine runners and walkers completed the 5K course, and 20 runners recorded personal bests.

Leading the way in completing his very first parkrun was Mark Kirkiksis breaking the proverbial “tape” with a time of 17:07.  In second, AAA Tri Team member, Jeremy Arguelles finished in 18:04.  In third, was teen runner Reagan McGinley who had a PB completing the course in 19:11

On the women’s side of the ledger, coming in first and second were teen sisters Alexis Hill at 21:59 and Mackenzie Hill at 23:25 with a new PB.  Finishing third was Angela Harman with a time of 25:09.

We are grateful for our volunteers who made this week’s parkrun possible: Harry Barnes, Christopher Cardwell, Bailey Cardwell, Dottie Harding, Butch Holt, Kay Melvin-Barnes, Janis Nicholson, Helen Prestes, Daniel Whitehouse and Jim Pickering.  Check the parkrun volunteer page to find opportunities to serve at future runs.
