Myrtle is a 3-year-old American Pitbull Terrier Blend who weighs 67 pounds.  She is a VERY sweet and goofy girl who loves to be with people! AND…she is even house trained!  She is currently undergoing treatment for heartworm, but she is very much adoptable!  Myrtle would make a great addition to any family!

We are located at 4648 Baptist Island Road in Groveland, just 4 miles north of Highway 50 and Highway 33.  The Animal League Adoption Center hours: Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday 10am-6pm.   We have puppies and kittens to seniors, large and small breeds, purebreds and mixed breed – there is something for everyone! The Lake County Animal Shelter will host its second annual Star Wars-themed adoption event on May 11 dubbed “May the Fur be with you.”  Hosted at the shelter, 28123 County Road 561, Tavares, this fun-filled event offers families pet adoptions at no cost all day and will feature Star Wars characters from 11:00 am to 2:30 pm, including special guests from the 501st Makaze Squad who will be available for photos.  

“Everyone had a blast at our Star Wars event last year and we are thrilled to have the 501st join us again to promote pet adoption,” said shelter director Whitney Boylston.
