Lake County Poet Laureate Jim Steele will visit the Library on Thursday, April 6, 2023 at 5 p.m. for a poetry reading. April is National Poetry Month. 

South Lake Art League instructor and certified Zentangle Teacher, Lisa Harris, will teach a Zentangle art class on Thursday, April 13, 2023 at 3 p.m. Zentangle is a method of drawing that involves structured patterns and focuses on concentration and creativity. 

On Monday, April 17, 2023 at 3 p.m., Dr. Marcia Jo Zerivitz will present a lecture on the Roots of Antisemitism. She will share the current situation, historical background of antisemitism, and the power of imagery in communicating the agenda of hatred, as well as actions we can take to help combat it. 

The Friends of the Library Opera Club will present Amadeus on Monday, April 24, 2023, at 1:45 p.m. in Room 108. Attendees will watch and discuss the opera as part of this ongoing educational series. 

As a part of the Cooper Concert Series, the Library will host The October Mountain Washtub Band on Thursday, April 27, 2023, at 5:30 p.m. Led by Don and Cookie Polly, the band also features Dolly and Alma. Each band member plays instruments and sings. Enjoy a variety of country, folk, pop and gospel tunes from The October Mountain Washtub Band. 

All events are free and generously sponsored by the Friends of the Cooper Memorial Library. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend.
