Maritza previously served on the Clermont Main Street Board of Directors as an ex-officio member with the City of Clermont. She has been a part of the rebranding efforts and has assisted with monthly and signature events. “I look forward to working with Clermont Main Street and continuing to foster the relationship between the organization and the City of Clermont,” remarks Rivera. “I am passionate about our downtown and cannot wait to see our continued growth through business development, events and more.”

Maritza is bringing more than 15 years of experience in event and program management within government and nonprofits, most recently serving as Program Manager with the City of Clermont. She will begin her new role at Clermont Main Street Sept. 20

“I am pleased to designate Clermont Main Street as the August 2022 Florida Main Street Program of the Month,” said Secretary Byrd. “The organization has taken significant strides towards excellence since its return to the Florida Main Street program earlier this year. We look forward to their continued growth as they work with community partners to shape the downtown’s future.”

Clermont Main Street re-joined the Florida Main Street Program in February 2022, with the goal of engaging the entire community in the revitalization of the historic downtown. The renewed partnership among the City of Clermont, South Lake Chamber of Commerce, Clermont Historical Society, and Clermont Main Street has set the pace for celebrating the community’s history, fostering innovation and creativity, and growing the local economy to benefit all residents and visitors alike.

This year, Downtown Clermont has launched a new branding campaign entitled Lure of the Lake. Gem of the Hills. This vibrant new community definition appears on destination marketing websites, signage, and banners placed along the South Lake Trail at Lake Minneola. The new campaign pays homage to Clermont’s 19^th century roots and rich history to evoke the small-town charm of downtown Clermont, where warm lake breezes and abundant trails entice visitors and residents to discover all the diverse year-round experiences that the area offers.

Throughout the year, Clermont Main Street hosts the popular Sunday Farmers Market, First Friday Food Trucks, monthly Wine Strolls, and holiday events such as Harvest Festival and Candy Cane Lane.

“Activating the arts and celebrating Clermont’s history are two new priorities,” said Executive Director Barbara Hollerand. “It’s amazing that Clermont Main Street has come full circle. The energy and momentum we have downtown today are unlike anything many of us have ever seen.”

Clermont Main Street always hosts exciting Downtown Clermont events with specialty foods, beautiful crafts and live entertainment. It’s time to celebrate the warming spring season. There is always something delicious and entertaining for everyone! Hundreds of visitors will pack their Downtown Clermont streets with safe social distancing.

March 4 — First Friday Food Trucks & Music on Montrose: There will be a diverse assortment of about 20 food trucks and vendors available from 5:30 to 9 PM. Some of the most popular food trucks will be back including: Ritters Frozen Custard, Bao Houz, Oh My Dogs, Orlando Sliderz, Mila’s Waffles, The Knot, Basil & Bones, Al’s Gelato, Brazilian Passion, Nin’s 5 Tacos, Rock’n Rooster, Oshiimotto Japanese, Brazilian BBQ, KD Kitchen, South Carolina Mac n’ Cheese, Yes Coffee and The Crepe Company. The entertaining Ted & The Boots Band will perform. Many of the downtown shops and restaurants will remain open late. There will be classic cars and a fun Kid Zone including a bounce house. This First Friday event is being sponsored by Renewal by Andersen. 

March Sunday Clermont Farmer’s Markets: Farmer’s Markets are exciting and fun with over 90 specialty vendors every Sunday from 9 AM to 2 PM. Farm fresh organic produce, seafood, Florida raised local beef, sweets, plants, coffees. teas, soaps, pastas, cheese, breads, crafts, artwork, a knife sharpener and seasonal gifts make this a great weekly event. Many Downtown Clermont restaurants and businesses will be open. On Sunday, March 6, Eddy Craft will perform. On March 13^, George and Diana of Breeze Duo will entertain. Ben Lewis will perform on March 20, while Tim and Valarie Webb will perform on March 27. Bring your lawn chairs. Orlando Health South Lake Hospital is the March Farmer’s Market Sponsor.

March 18 Wine Stroll! Clermont Main Street is sponsoring downtown Clermont wine strolls where you can pay to taste test over 15 different wines. The next one will be Saturday, March 18 from 6:30 to 9 PM.
