]]> The VFW Auxiliary invites the community to join in the celebration of Oktoberfest on October 19,  from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Clermont VFW Post 5277, located at 855 W. Desoto Street, Clermont.

This festive event will feature a delicious German-inspired menu, including:

  • Bratwurst and Sauerkraut on a bun
  • German Potato Salad served with applesauce or sour cream
  • Red Cabbage
  • Deviled Eggs
  • Spätzle
  • An assortment of desserts

All of this is available for a donation of just $12 per plate, with all proceeds going toward supporting veterans in the community. Drinks will be offered at an additional charge.

Enjoy great food, support a worthy cause, and celebrate Oktoberfest with friends and neighbors.

]]> Clermont VFW Post 5277 and its Auxiliary recently delivered a community service grant of $1000 to Sawgrass Bay Elementary School Principal Andrea Steenken and Katherine Self for their “Comfort Closet”.

The Comfort Closet is used for food, clothing and footwear for about 200-300 families in need of some assistance. The comfort closet is normally funded by families of the 1300 attending students.

The VFW grant will impact many families in the future and teachers and students were very grateful for the VFW contribution.

The VFW Auxiliary donated backpacks and school supplies at the beginning of the year.
