The Clermont Police Department hosted its first annual Sip, Chill & Chat with Clermont Police on June 4^th at Teamont Boba, 756 West Montrose Street, located in the Historic Downtown District.

Police Chief John Graczyk has a desire this summer to connect with the community’s youth in a more one-on-one manner. “We intend to host more pop-up type events throughout the city this summer in areas where youth tend to accumulate. Whether that is Waterfront Park on Third Street or other city parks, we will provide ice-cold bottles of water to the public in those areas.

Operation Hydration. Operation Hydration will provide a chance for the kids, and adults as well, to meet the wonderful heroes from the Clermont Police Department,” says Chief Graczyk.

Sgt. Erin Razo outlined another beat-the-heat event planned for June 24^th at Mission BBQ, 1225 East State Road 50, Clermont. Sweet Tea with Chief “G” will be held indoors from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm. Stop by for a visit with Police Chief John Graczyk while enjoying some delicious iced tea. Enjoy the time and fellowship in the cool environment with some delicious barbeque (meals are optional at attendees’ cost).

The department is currently planning, in partnership with others, a “Youth Day Festival” at McKinney Park, 801 Bloxam Avenue, this fall season. Details are currently pending.

Several years ago, the Clermont Police Department took the extra step in public relations by adding a full-time community relations unit to the department. The unit conducts crime prevention presentations, neighborhood watch support, youth and elderly safety tips, neighborhood community speaking engagements, holiday shopping campaigns for children, mental health awareness, the annual Pets in the Park festival, and much more.
