The Community Foundation of South Lake County (CFSLC) recently honored over 130 of their donors, non-profit organizations, dignitaries and guests at a breakfast at Clermont’s City Center. The keynote speaker for the event was Dave Krepcho, President & CEO of Second Harvest Food Bank of Orlando.

Kathy Smith, CFSLC Executive Director, announced that CFSLC celebrated a record-breaking year of giving. Approximately $1.6 million was contributed to community organizations from their endowment and generous donors. She proudly acknowledged the CFSLC donors stating, “Without our donors none of this would be possible. They displayed their generous hearts to give during one of our community’s most vulnerable times, the pandemic. The CFSLC is thankful to their donors, the Morgridge Family Foundation and especially the Live Well Foundation of South Lake, for their extraordinary support over these past 20 months”.

The CFSLC was able to increase their overall giving to our community by an astounding 164%. More importantly than the numbers, it’s the impact those dollars had on the families in need!

Along with celebrating the record-breaking year of giving, the 2021-2022 grants were awarded to the following organizations:

● LovExtension $5,000

● Early Learning Coalition of Lake County $19,172

● Family Matters of Central Florida $20,000
