										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Lake County will only offer second doses of the COVID-19 Pfizer vaccine at the state-supported immunization site at Lake Square Mall from Wednesday, May 5 through Tuesday, May 25. First doses will no longer be administered.</p>
<p>Walk-ins for second doses will be accepted weekdays between 10 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. On Saturday, May 8, the site will accept walk-ins between 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Walk-in times are subject to change. To receive a second dose, individuals will need to bring their CDC vaccination card and government-issued I.D.</p>
<p>Appointments may also be made online at <a href="https://myvaccine.fl.gov/">myvaccine.fl.gov</a> or via phone through the Sharecare system by calling 866-201-6909 (or 833-476-1031 for TTY users).</p>
<p>Vaccinations are limited to the population outlined in Section 2 of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis&#8217;<a href="https://lakecountyfl.gov/offices/emergency_management/whiteboard/files/EO_21-79.pdf">Executive Order 21-79</a>. All Floridians are eligible to receive any COVID-19 vaccine as prescribed by the Food and Drug Administration, including those aged 16 and up who are eligible for the Pfizer vaccine. Note that those age 16 and 17 will need to have a parent or guardian present.</p>

<p>Walk-ins for first doses will be accepted weekdays between 10 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. except for Wednesday, April 28 as the site will be open for extended hours between 10 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. On Saturday, May 1, the site will accept walk-ins between 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Additional information on walk-in times for second doses will be provided at a later date.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH-LAKE</strong></p>
<p>Since February 11, 2021, the Florida Department of Health in Lake County (DOH-Lake) has partnered with over 15 local churches of all denominations and organizations to expand Covid-19 immunization to area residents through closed points of dispensing (PODs).   So far, we have serviced over 1,000 members.</p>
<p>“These partnerships have allowed us to reach many more people in our community which we weren’t able to reach through our traditional immunizations efforts”, said Aaron Kissler Health Officer of the Florida Department of Health in Lake County.  “Getting us closer to our goal of immunizing all those currently covered under the governor&#8217;s executive order.”</p>
<p>Any organization that meets the current governor’s executive order and be part of our closed PODs can send us an email to<a href="mailto:CHD35Webmaster@flhealth.gov">CHD35Webmaster@flhealth.gov</a> Please be patient with us as we process your requests. We are experiencing a high volume, and we may have to combine some closed PODs.</p>
<p>The Lake Square Mall Immunization site is available by appointment only.  Residents interested in <strong>1st doses</strong> can preregister at <a href="http://myvaccine.fl.gov/">http://myvaccine.fl.gov</a> or by phone at 866-201-6909 (or 833-476-1031 for TTY users).  If you have any questions you can call the Helpline at 833-540-2052.</p>
<p>As a reminder, we continue <strong>2<sup>nd</sup> dose</strong> <strong><em>only</em></strong> COVID-19 immunizations at the <strong>Groveland Amazon site located at 7453 Republic Drive, Groveland from 8 A.M to 11:30 A.M Monday thru Friday till further notice based on vaccine availability.  Scheduled 2<sup>nd</sup> doses are also being administered by appointment at the St Patrick Catholic Church site.</strong></p>
<p>As per Executive Order 20-315, during this first phase, we’ll continue to vaccinate the following populations: Long-term care facility residents and staff; Persons 65 years of age and older; and Health Care personnel with direct patient contact.  Hospital providers however may also vaccinate persons who they deem to be extremely vulnerable to COVID-19.</p>
