Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the City of Clermont canceled its annual 4th of July Red, White & Boom fireworks celebration at Waterfront Park.

Red, White & Boom, an annual, free event, has always been a family favorite, with lots of traditional activities, such as a pie-eating contest, old-fashioned games, a Kids Zone, and patriotic costume contest – for people and pets. Thousands of people gathered during the day and lined the shores of Lake Minneola in the evening to view the finale; a fireworks extravaganza over Lake Minneola.

Mayor Gail Ash discussed the possibility of holding the fireworks display in another area of the city, such as the Clermont Performing Arts Center, to better control crowds and bring some normalcy to the City. However, after research, and discussion, it was determined that it would be difficult to practice social distancing and traffic control at the event which draws thousands to the area each year.
