Saying Farewell to Johnson Village Marketplace

In a bittersweet turn of events, Johnson Village Marketplace is closing its doors as of Saturday, February 3rd at 7 pm.

Owner Darren Johnson wrote:

The Johnsons had a vision. Johnson Village Marketplace would not only be a small-town grocery store but a community hub where people would gather to shop, socialize, and share news and yarns. It would become the heart of the community, something the larger, corporate chains couldn’t offer the community.

The closure of Johnson Village Marketplace reflects the challenges faced by small, independent businesses. Rising costs, competition, and consumer preferences have all contributed to the difficulties that locally-owned businesses face in the modern marketplace.

Though only open for a few months, the closure will be a loss for the community. It serves as a call to action for residents to support local businesses.

The closing of Johnson Village Marketplace serves as a reminder of the importance of preserving and nurturing our small neighborhood businesses.

Grand Opening Celebration At Johnson Village Marketplace

Clermont’s newly built Johnson Village Marketplace recently held its official grand opening celebration. Located at 550 West Ave., next to the Clermont Historic Village, the market celebrated by offering complimentary tastings, specialty cheese samples, Woodchuck wine sampling, Uncle Matt’s organic juice, and more.
