We are very fortunate to have this new children’s choir led by veteran elementary music teachers Rachel Robertson, Debbie Fahmie, and Erin Nesslage. This program will be more than just a stand-and-sing choir. Participants will be able to learn, sing, use percussion instruments, and more in a fun and exciting environment that they will be inspired to return to enjoy our weekly rehearsals. We have opened Children Sing! to children in our area who will love to sing, perform, grow, and to be inspired by music. These young singers will build confidence, teamwork, and creativity while strengthening their musical, listening, and focus skills. Through joyful ensemble singing, movement, and rhythm exercises, the participating children will be encouraged to grow socially, emotionally, and academically while finding their voices in more ways than one.”

Rachel Robertson, the Children Sing! Instructor shared: “Lake Community Arts is thrilled to start our exciting new performance group, Children Sing! This will be a comprehensive musical experience that will give our children the opportunity to not only sing, but also to play an interactive role in the creative process. As we gear up for our community performances, we will strengthen our children’s musicianship skills and build community spirit in a creative way. We look forward to making music with your children!”

LCA Board President Leiland Theriot notes, “At Lake Community Arts, our mission is to unite, inspire, and transform our community through inclusive visual and performing arts while engaging individuals of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds, while strengthening our community through the power of the arts. We look forward to expanding our reach by creating more opportunities in music, theatre, dance, visual arts, and music education.”

The Lake Community Arts presented their inaugural Christmas concert; A Wondrous Revelation. Directed by Chad McClellan, this inspiring evening of music featured a 100+ voice Lake Community Choir with the Lake Minneola High School Treble Choir. With over 800 tickets sold, this first major South Lake concert wove together timeless Christmas carols, and festive holiday favorites that helped everyone celebrate the spirit of the season with their family and friends.

Co-Founder and Choir Director, Chad McClellan notes, “The arts simply cannot thrive without you, the very community where we perform and serve. Our time as an organization may be short, just really kicking off in August, but in that time, we’ve accomplished so much, like starting this 100+ voice community choir, organizing the first-ever Lake County Schools music teacher professional development day, helping to bring the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra Young People’s Concert to every 5th grader in Lake County, donating hundreds of non-perishable food items to Unforsaken Women, and so much more. And with all that behind us, there is still so much ahead. With plans in the works for a children’s choir, theater program, education initiatives, and more on the near horizon, our goal of bringing arts and performance opportunities to everyone gets closer each day. With your help, Lake County can become a thriving hub of performing and visual arts opportunities for every single person. I can promise you now, that we haven’t even begun to begin.”

At the Christmas concert, Clermont Mayor Tim Murry noted, “I am honored and we are proud to have the City of Clermont partner with Lake Community Arts in bringing beautiful concerts to our city. I would like to extend a special thank you to Leiland Theriot, President of Lake Community Arts, and to their conductor Chad McClellan as well as to all the talented singers who have worked so diligently to make their first concert possible. As the great composer Johann Sebastian Bach once said, “The aim and end of all music should be none other than to celebrate the glory of God and refreshment of the soul. Music has a powerful way of bringing people together, uplifting our spirits, and strengthening our sense of community. We thank Lake Community Arts for supporting the arts, and for supporting the city of Clermont as we get ready to celebrate our future together!”

Future LCA performances will include public concerts and special events to showcase local talent and foster a sense of belonging for both performers and audiences. Future program expansion will include more LCA opportunities for adult and youth choir singers, musicians, theatre performers, the visual arts, and music education. Support through donations and sponsorships will allow them to expand our offers, increasing our artistic impact in Lake County. Registration will open soon for their 2026 spring concert.
