]]> The Lake Apopka West Shore Boat Ramp, located at 17710 Broad St., Montverde, will be closed on Friday, Feb. 20, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. for water mobilization of construction material and equipment to Ferndale Preserve. Throughout the project, the boat ramp will be intermittently closed.
 
The Ferndale Preserve project includes the construction of a new observation tower/fishing pier and kayak/canoe launch. Patrons are encouraged to use the McDonald Canal Boat Ramp, located at 24600 County Road 448A, Mount Dora, as an alternative boat ramp for launching and retrieving boats on Lake Apopka.
