The Clermont Multihull Association hosted the Clermont Multihull Regatta from February 21 through 23 at Victory Pointe Park, near the Clermont Boathouse off West Minneola Avenue, on Lake Minneola. The event transformed the lake into a vibrant spectacle as colorful multihull sailboats glided across the water, captivating both seasoned sailors and spectators new to the sport.

Held in collaboration with the Hobie Class Association of North America (HCANA) and Hobie Division 8, the regatta brought together multihull sailing enthusiasts for a weekend filled with competitive racing, camaraderie, and picturesque views. As the second event in the Florida Hobie winter circuit, it served as an exciting competition where skilled sailors showcased their talents in the dynamic waters of Lake Minneola.

Past regattas in Clermont have presented a range of weather conditions, adding an element of unpredictability to the races. Sailors must adapt to strong winds or light breezes, requiring strategic maneuvering and keen decision-making. Regardless of the conditions, the Clermont Multihull Regatta remains a highlight of the sailing season.

The regatta kicked off on Friday which proved too cold for some Hobie 16s. Saturday began on a high note with one race completed before the wind completely disappeared, bringing an early pause to the action. The winter regattas in Florida was enjoyed even in the unusually cold conditions.

On Sunday, little to no breeze challenged the Race Committee to find creative ways to provide sailors with valuable tiller time. An Around-the-Lake course rewarded those who patiently navigated the N-NW side of the lake.
