The South Lake Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon-cutting on Saturday, January 27^th for the Grand Re-opening of Once Upon A Creation (OUAC) located at 4300 South US-27, Suite 207, Clermont.

OUAC is a locally-owned and family-operated business that offers do-it-yourself studio space for guests of all ages to come and create their very own, one-of-a-kind piece of art. The studio offers several designs that are ready for customers to choose from for the occasion. Custom design options are also available, including a paint bar full of stains and color choices.

 OUAC offers several workshops, including art workshops that are currently being combined with a one-of-a-kind culinary experience. Workshops can also be customized to fit a partnering business’s needs whether it be art, food, or specialty requests. The studio also sells custom signs and gifts, celebration boards, custom t-shirts as well as make-and-take kits for individual or group needs.

 Some upcoming events include a “Mommy and Me” kids Valentine’s cupcake decorating with Lubelle’s Cakes on February 10^th, from 4-5:30 pm. The event will include a step-by-step guide to cupcake decorating for kids that includes mocktails, 4 cupcakes and a special Valentine’s Day dance.  Also planned for February is a “Paint & Sip” on February 7^th, beginning at 5:30 pm. Wine specials will be offered, and attendees will have the opportunity to unleash their inner artistic skills while painting their own Valentine’s gnome or sweets basket.

Once Upon a Creation just celebrated its Grand Opening and the South Lake Chamber of Commerce was there to host the Ribbon Cutting ceremony.

Cathylee Morales lost her job and Jessica Gagliano was furloughed from Disney during the COVID-19 pandemic so they opened up a small start-up location that was hidden in a Clermont area warehouse.

As word spread, many came in to make their own clever wooden signs and hobby crafts. Jessica Gagliano brought in a chef to teach how to create charcuterie boards of beautifully displayed meats, cheese, fruits and veggies.

Owner, Cathylee Morales notes, “We were so pleased that little space became a creative outlet for people to come and explore new creations and to relax in the middle of a pandemic.

The start-up business was so successful that they relocated to the Legends Pointe Shopping Center above Akina on Highway 27 South near Hartwood Marsh Road.

Once Upon a Creation has a complete staff of instructors; plus, work with guest instructors. Its schedule is full of fun activities for children, teens and adults. They offer Art & Yoga, Denim Workshops, Cake Decorating, Floral Arrangements, Charcuterie & Art, Crochet, Crafty Brunches, Margarita Nights, Taco King Lessons, Bloomin’ Beauties, Wine Down Wednesdays and many more open creative opportunities. Workshops for toddlers, kids and teens include: Fairy Hair, Tie Dye Workshops, ARTchery, Luaus, Ice Cream Socials as well as many other seasonal and holiday craft workshops.

Morales notes, “We are now able to offer special Cake Pop Workshops, Tea Parties, Themed Kid Parties, Birthday Parties, Baby Showers, Bridal Showers and more with a combination of art and culinary creations.“ They are now offering special summer vacation workshops for children. Sundays are reserved for adults and private parties. They are closed on Mondays.
