Born and raised in Clermont, Phil grew up with a love for fishing the Clermont lakes, playing baseball and spending time at the beach surfing. He earned admiration for his exceptional performance in baseball from an early age. His talent led him to Clemson University, where he played from 1986 to 1988, earning his bachelor’s degree in 1989.

After pursuing his love for baseball in the minor leagues with the Atlanta Braves organization, he retired from baseball to begin a career with Lockheed Martin. During his remarkable 34-year career with Lockheed he rose to become Site Director of Ocala Operations and most recently Production Operations Director in Orlando. He was known as a dedicated leader who inspired those around him.

Above all, Phil will be remembered for his character. He was a loving son, brother, uncle, friend, husband, and father. Described as compassionate, selfless, and kind, he had a gift for making those around him feel valued. His storytelling and humor brought joy to everyone he met. Phil’s legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched.

Phil leaves behind his devoted wife, Shelley Lowery, his beloved son, Jordan Lowery, his parents, Ken and Martha Lowery and sister Renee (Mike) Hoskinson. He is also survived by his nephews and niece, Micah, Jon and Anna as well as great nephews and nieces, Vann, James, Haydnn and Elle.

A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, January 11th at 11:00 a.m. at Living Hope Church in Clermont, Florida. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donation be made to Residing Hope Florida (Formerly Florida United Methodist Children’s Home) or Children’s Home Society of Florida.
