Rheumatology Care Associates and Brijcare Family Medicine celebrated their official double grand openings with two simultaneous ribbon cuttings at a ceremony hosted by the South Lake Chamber of Commerce. Dr. Priya Prakash of Rheumatology Care Associates and Dr. Akhil Singhal of Brijcare Family Medicine welcomed everyone including Clermont Mayor Tim Murry, South Lake Chamber of Commerce David Colby, SLCC Ambassadors, friends, family and many local dignitaries who attended for free this celebratory event and complimentary tours.

Priya Prakash, MD, FACR: Dr. Prakash is recognized as a top specialist and board-certified in internal medicine and rheumatology treatments. Dr. Prakash completed her medical school studies in India. She immigrated to the United States and completed an Internal Medicine residency and fellowship in Rheumatology at Westchester Medical Center and New York Medical Center in Valhalla, New York. Dr. Prakash worked as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City, the only tertiary care center in the state of Oklahoma. During her stay at the University, her experience in the management of a variety of rheumatological disorders was further magnified with cutting-edge technology. Dr. Prakash moved here to Central Florida with her family. She is married to Dr. Vipul Pareek, an oncology and hematology specialist. They have two young sons.

Rheumatology Care Associates: Her major service specialties include treating complicated rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, interstitial lung diseases, ANCA, fibromyalgia, vasculitis, osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, gout, bursitis, tennis elbow, shoulder pain, trigger finger, dermatology services and numerous other treatments.

Akhil Singhal, MD, MPH: Dr. Singhal is a board-certified family medicine physician and founder of Brijcare Family Medicine. He is a member of American Academy of Family Physicians and certified by American Board of Family Medicine. Dr. Singhal earned his medical degree from University College of Medical Sciences in New Delhi, India.  After moving to the United States, he completed his Master’s Degree in Public Health and Family Medicine Residency from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City. Before founding Brijcare Family Medicine here in Clermont, he has worked at Veterans Affairs outpatient clinics in Oklahoma as a primary care physician managing a wide spectrum of chronic diseases. He and his family moved to Florida, where he first worked as an urgent care physician with Heart of Florida, while treating a variety of patients with acute illnesses. Dr. Singhal is married to Dr. Shuchi Chaudhary, a board-certified specialist in vascular neurology. They have three young children.

Brijcare Family Medicine: Dr. Singhal is very experienced in taking care of any member of your entire family. At Brijcare, their mission is to utilize compassionate care, respect and shared decisions while rendering comprehensive health services ranging from chronic to acute.
