The South Lake Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Salt Shack on the Lake, 846 West Osceola Street, Clermont on Monday, February 5^th. Salt Shack on the Lake combined the ribbon-cutting with an official Grand Opening of the restaurant, as well.

The newly renovated building boasts a fresh look inside and out with a brand-new décor and completely renovated kitchen, including all new kitchen equipment. The dining area has been updated with a coastal rustic but fresh look, to include plenty of large windows with a view of Lake Minneola from any table within the indoor dining area.

Indoor and outdoor seating is available, including a large outdoor picnic table area complete with saltwater shell ground cover and large tropical palm trees. All the beautiful oak trees on the grounds were preserved and filtered into the lakefront atmosphere of the property.

Chief Operations Manager Katherine Hornes announced that a lakefront deck will soon be added to the snow-white sand of the Salt Shack. The deck will allow for “on the water” dining while enjoying the views of Lake Minneola, including beautiful summer sunsets that adorn the western shores of Lake Minneola. Clermont City Manager Brian Bulthuis, who was present for the festivities, confirmed that the deck will not be a boat dock nor is the plans for the deck affiliated in any way with the City of Clermont’s plans for a floating boat dock,  just east of the premises near the present Eighth Street pier.

Salt Shack offers a wide range of exciting menu options including the “fresh catch of the day” sandwiches or entrees, shellfish, crab cakes, and fish. Plenty of land-lover options are available as well, including burgers, sandwiches, tacos, pasta, and a variety of soups and salads. The adult menu includes many beer brands, wines, and mixed drink labels.

Although the restaurant is equipped with outdoor cold-weather heating devices, the coastal designs and decorations throughout the premises will surely be a big hit for area residents when the summertime fun returns in a few short weeks.

Adding to the appeal and availability, the city of Clermont is creating a parking area located just steps away from the restaurant, Clermont Historic Village, and Victory Pointe. 

The Salt Shack on the Lake is set to make waves in Clermont with an inviting and picturesque backdrop for a memorable dining experience.
