On average, over 350 customers come to Santiago’s for its Latin Food every day! This month, Jessica Whitehouse (Life With Jess & Friends) interviewed Christian, owner, chef and all things in between at Santiago’s Restaurant!

Jessica: Tell me about yourself: 

Christian: I’m originally from Brooklyn, New York. I have lived in Florida for the last seven years and have spent 17 years in the restaurant and grocery store industry. I spend my free time with my family and thinking of ways to improve my business.

Jessica: What inspired you to start your own business?

Christian:  I wanted to follow in my father’s footsteps. All of my uncles own supermarkets and restaurants throughout Florida and I am the youngest nephew. I grew up in this industry and love it. My mom and dad are what we call “supuestante jubildo,” which means, they are “supposedly retired.” But they are here working and helping out often.

Jessica: What is your favorite part about your business?

Christian: They say in life, you should find your niche. I have found mine. I love what I do. I love interacting with our customers. I love to feed people. It makes me so happy. I don’t cook to make ends meet, I cook out of love and the happiness it brings to myself and others. And with that mindset, I have been able to build a successful business with amazing customers.

Jessica: Tell me something you want potential customers to know about your business: 

Christian: Santiago’s Restaurant is a family-owned and operated business. We welcome the community with open arms and hope to make everyone a customer. Every day, we offer a daily special of two plates for $10 after 5 pm. We offer catering year-round for all sorts of events. The holidays are coming and we offer catering for office holiday parties. We will beat anyone’s price and would love to be part of your company’s upcoming events.
