]]> On August 19, the South Lake Community came together to honor their First Responders at the South Lake Chamber of Commerce First Responders Appreciation Breakfast at the Clermont Performing Arts Center. Table and medal sponsors, as well as volunteers worked to make it a very successful event.

Paul Rountree, President of Project Scholars Board of Directors, spoke on the upcoming 2022 Pig on the Pond Event. The popular event will take place on October 15-17 at Waterfront Park (300 3rd St., Clermont.).

Pig on the Pond Community Festival – Friday, Oct 15 to Sunday, Oct 17 at Waterfront Park (330 3rd St)

Pig On the Pond started 23 years ago. From its modest start as a BBQ competition, it has grown to be the biggest outdoor festival in south Lake County and has been voted one of Central Florida’s most popular events. The festival runs for 3 days, from Friday, Oct. 15 – Sunday, Oct. 17, 2021. The festival takes place at Waterfront Park on the shore of Lake Minneola in Clermont. The family-friendly festival includes entertainment for all ages, a carnival, a Kids Zone, food vendors galore and special activities throughout the weekend. Besides being a fun-filled community event, proceeds from Pig on the Pond go to fund four, 4-year college scholarships for deserving south Lake County students each year.
