										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Lake County Supervisor of Elections, Alan Hays, advises Republican voters of the upcoming March 19th Presidential Preference Primary (PPP) Election. Polls will be open from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm.</p>
<p>Democratic voters should take note that the Democratic Party is not having a 2024 Presidential Preference Primary this year. However, the August 20th Primary Election is for all voters.<span class="Apple-converted-space">&nbsp;</span></p>
<p>On Election Day, voters must cast their ballot at their assigned polling location. Polling locations may be found through one of the following methods:</p>
<p>1. Voter Information Card<br />
2. Visiting lakevotes.gov<br />
3. Calling the SOE at 352-343-9734<span class="Apple-converted-space">&nbsp;</span></p>
<p>Voters should be prepared to present a current photo ID with a signature at their polling location. The following are considered acceptable forms of identification:<span class="Apple-converted-space">&nbsp;</span></p>
<p>Florida Driver License<br />
Veteran Health ID <i>issued by the US Dept. of VA<br />
</i>Florida ID <i>issued by DHSMV<br />
</i>A license to carry a concealed weapon or firearm&#8211;<br />
United States Passport <i>issued pursuant to FS 790.06<br />
</i>Debit or Credit Card<br />
Employee ID Card <i>issued by any branch, agency,<br />
</i>Military ID<br />
<i>Department, or entity of the Federal Govt.<br />
</i>Retirement Center ID<br />
<i>State, a county, or municipality<br />
</i>Neighborhood Assoc. ID<span class="Apple-converted-space">&nbsp;</span></p>
<p>Early Voting (EV) for the PPP began March 7th and continues each day through March 16th. EV locations are open 10:00 am – 6:00 pm with 12 convenient locations to serve voters.<span class="Apple-converted-space">&nbsp;</span></p>
<p>Registration books are closed for new registrations and party affiliation changes for this election. Voters should also note that Vote-by-Mail ballots must be in the Lake County Supervisor of Elections office no later than 7:00 pm on Election Day.<span class="Apple-converted-space">&nbsp;</span></p>
<p>Sample ballots and Early Voting information are available at www.LakeVotes.gov.<span class="Apple-converted-space">&nbsp;</span></p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><b><i></i></b><i>The Lake County Supervisor of Elections office sent its first mailing of requested Vote-by-Mail ballots to domestic voters yesterday, July 9, for the upcoming Primary Election.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></i></p>
<p><i>“By the end of today, we will have mailed out over 35,000 ballots and will be mailing them daily through August 10</i><i>th</i><i>,” commented Lake County Supervisor, Alan Hays. </i><b><i>Voters must have their request in for a Vote-by-Mail ballot by 5 p.m. on Saturday, August 8</i></b><b><i>th </i></b><b><i>to be included in these mailings. </i></b><i>Voters may submit requests online at </i><i>www.LakeVotes.com </i><i>under the “Vote-by-Mail” tab. Requests can also be made by calling the Supervisor of Elections office at 352.343.9734. By law, ballots cannot be forwarded.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></i></p>
<p><i>Voters are encouraged to allow plenty of mailing time for their ballot to be received </i><b><i>(not just postmarked) </i></b><i>in the Supervisor of Elections Office by 7 p.m. on Election Day, August 18. Postage is paid to return via mail. Voted ballots may also be dropped off at any early voting location between August 6 and August 15 (between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.). Voted ballots may also be deposited in the secure drop box located outside the elections office at 1898 E. Burleigh Blvd in Tavares until 7 p.m. on Election Day.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></i></p>
<p><i>The voter’s signature is required on the outside of the ballot return envelope. The signature on the returned ballot envelope will be compared to the signature on file with the Supervisor of Elections office. Voters can learn more about updating their signature by contacting our office at 352.343.9734. Voters are encouraged to provide an email address and cell numbers for contact if a missing or mismatch signature occurs.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></i></p>
<p><i>Voters who receive a ballot in the mail and decide to vote in person should bring their marked or unmarked ballot to their polling location so it can be cancelled.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></i></p>
