The 2nd Annual Well of Hope Gala will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2023, at 5:30 pm at the Clermont City Center, located at 620 W Montrose St, Clermont, to celebrate the power of unity, compassion, and resilience in a community where no one goes to bed hungry.

Under the theme #ZEROHUNGERCOMMUNITY, this gala promises an evening of inspiration and unity. Become a sponsor for this significant event. By doing so, you contribute to the organization’s ongoing efforts to provide food and social services to the underserved population of Clermont.

Beta Theta Gives Loving Support To Well of Hope Food Bank and Thrift Store

Members of Beta Theta recently visited Well of Hope, located at 16605 Sunrise Lakes Blvd. #10, Clermont, to present a donation to the non-profit. The organization’s mission is to assist individuals and families toward their goals and life achievements by helping them with quality and healthier food, clothing, furniture, job training, employment opportunities, and educational classes focusing on family health and community growth.

Well of Hope is a local resource for food security in Clermont. It supports its food bank with all sales from its Thrift Store going toward the feeding of families and funding food distribution. In addition to our food pantry, it offers a range of other resources and services to support food security in Clermont. This includes educational programs, cooking classes, and advocacy initiatives to promote healthy eating and address systemic issues related to food insecurity. Rev. Hopewell says, “Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime.” One of the things taught at Well of Hope is Hydroponics, an agricultural technique for growing plants without soil using nutrients in water.

“Access to healthy and nutritious food is a basic human right, however, food insecurity remains a significant challenge in the community and across the country”, says Rev. Hopewell.

Well Of Hope Holds Its Annual Joy Of Giving Holiday Food And Toy Giveaway

The Well of Hope, 16605 Sunrise Lakes Boulevard, Clermont-Four Corners, held their 8th Annual Joy of Giving holiday food and toy giveaway on Saturday, December 17th.

One hundred-fifty families, with sixty children combined, registered for the event that provides families in the area with food packages complete with a ham or turkey and all of the holiday meal trimmings. The Four-Corners area of Lake County is a unique area for obtaining assistance as government grants and provisional funding to food banks is based on client residency. A one-mile area of the Four-Corners area encompasses four county jurisdictions to include Lake, Orange, Polk and Osceola Counties. South Lake County children received toy assistance this year from organizations such as Charities Across South Lake, while the remaining three county area of Four-Corners received minimal assistance from the respective county of residence.

Well of Hope Founder Michael Hopewell has worked diligently to bring assistance to everyone in the area regardless of county residence. Although the assistance requires creative thinking to maneuver bureaucracy, Hopewell is committed to helping those in need as much as possible. Free clothes, furniture and household items were on hand at the celebration along with toys for families who had preregistered as out-of-county residents.

Much work ahead is needed to overcome obstacles that are an everyday way of life for many residents of the area says Hopewell. But in the meantime, partners such as Well of Hope Food Bank, New Water Church, We Care Child Care, Weichert Realty, Wal-Mart, Publix and the South Lake Food Providers continue to work together to help those that have found themselves in food emergencies with a helping hand.
