Vietnam Veterans Day is celebrated every March 29. It’s a day set aside for Americans to honor the courage and sacrifice of those who served in the Vietnam War.

The City of Groveland and members of the community paid homage to the Vietnam Veterans at a moving ceremony ending with a 21 gun salute and Taps. Singer/Musician Tim Hargis performed a stirring rendition of God Bless The USA. The event was held at Groveland Veterans Garden, located at the E.L. Puryear Building.

The City of Groveland, Mayor Dina Sweatt and residents Paula Hall and Evelyn Wilson were at the event to host and unveil the plaque.  It reads:

In honor of our Vietnam Veterans

November 1, 1955 – April 30, 1975
