The City of Mascotte invites residents and visitors to join in commemorating its 100th anniversary with a festive Centennial Celebration on Thursday, January 18. This milestone event honors Mascotte’s rich history while bringing the community together for a day filled with excitement, entertainment, and family-friendly activities.
The Parade: A Grand Kickoff
The festivities start at 10 am with a parade starting at Mascotte Charter School. Expect colorful floats, marching bands, and community groups showcasing the spirit of Mascotte. Line the streets to cheer on the participants and revel in the city’s pride and heritage.
A Day of Festivities
Following the parade, the celebration continues from 12 pm. to 6 pm at the Mascotte Civic Center, located at 121 N. Sunset Avenue. With free admission, attendees can enjoy a wide array of attractions, making it a perfect outing for all ages.
Highlights of the Day Include:
- Kids Corner: Delight the little ones with a petting zoo, bounce houses, games, face painting, and a trackless train.

The Christian Men in Action, in collaboration with the City of Clermont, invites the community to celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy on Monday, January 20, 2025, at Waterfront Park, located at 330 Third Street, Clermont, FL. This annual event honors Dr. King’s life, his leadership in the Civil Rights Movement, and his enduring message of equality and justice.
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., a social activist and visionary leader, was instrumental in the fight to end segregation and achieve civil rights for African Americans. His leadership led to landmark legislation, including the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965. Dr. King’s legacy inspires individuals and communities to strive for equality, justice, and unity.
This year’s celebration carries the theme: “Keeping the Dream Alive”, with a special emphasis on educating and inspiring youth to carry forward Dr. King’s mission.
Event Highlights
The day will begin with the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Parade at 10:00 am. The parade will start at McKinney Park, located at the corner of E. DeSoto Street and Bloxam Avenue, and will make its way to Waterfront Park. Parade participants, including floats, cars, bikers, and marching units, are invited to join the celebration. Join us on Saturday, January 25 from 11am-3pm for “Murals on the Trail” (MOTT 2025) Art Fest in the park. Enjoy live music and performers, arts & crafts vendors, food trucks and more. The festival is FREE and will be held in Minneola’s Trailhead Park at 315 Madison St.
The festival will also highlight the plight of the homeless in our community. Through art and creativity, we hope to encourage positive change. There will be six local non-profits set up to educate the community and to help those in need find local resources.
There will also be art activities for kids, a fashion show, live art demonstrations, and art drawings. Don’t forget to explore the 20 unique works by local artists in this one-of-a-kind outdoor mural gallery located under the Highway 27 overpass on the South Lake trail.
The festival is brought to you by Minneola Artworx, a group of local arts advocates whose mission is to create an arts scene that brings Minneola together and encourages the growth of local businesses in Minneola that are supported and funded by public and private partnerships.
