Broadway is coming to Montverde Academy! October 17, 2026, January 16, 2027 and April 17, 2027

Montverde Academy is proud to announce the inaugural Fine Arts Marquee Series: Broadway’s Best in Concert, an ambitious new annual concert series bringing three of Broadway’s most celebrated performers to the Sandra O. Stephens Fine Arts Auditorium for three unforgettable evenings during the 2026–27 season.

Acclaimed Broadway stars Rachel York, Marc Kudisch, and Kerry Butler headline three extraordinary, one-night-only concerts and bring Broadway into the classroom with master classes for Montverde Academy students.

Drama Desk Award winner Rachel York opens the series on October 17, three-time Tony Award nominee Marc Kudisch takes the stage on January 16, and Tony Award nominee Kerry Butler completes the inaugural season on April 17.

For Montverde Academy, the series represents something unprecedented: an opportunity for students, families, and audiences throughout Central Florida to experience artists of this caliber not on a screen or from hundreds of miles away, but live and up close on the Academy’s own stage. Unlike a traditional Broadway touring production, Broadway’s Best in Concert puts the focus squarely on the artists. In an intimate concert setting, audiences will experience the remarkable voices, songs, stories, humor, and personalities behind careers that have encompassed some of the most beloved musicals of the last three decades.

The concerts are only part of what makes the Marquee Series special. These Broadway stars won’t just perform at Montverde Academy; they’ll work directly with its students. During each visit, York, Kudisch, and Butler will share their experience and artistry with MVA students through a master class exploring different aspects of musical theatre performance, including Acting with Intention, Storytelling Through Song, and The Art of Musical Comedy.

For aspiring young performers, it is a rare opportunity to work with Broadway artists at the highest level while exploring how a song becomes a story; how an acting choice transforms a performance; and how timing, character, and wit turn musical comedy into an art form.

“These are artists Broadway audiences travel to New York to see, and we wanted to create something truly special by bringing that level of artistry directly to Montverde Academy,” said Mr. Dean Bell, Montverde Academy’s Director of Performing Arts and Conservatories. “Our students study every day what it means to communicate through music and theatre, and with this series they will have the remarkable opportunity not only to see these artists perform, but to learn from them directly in a master class setting. Rachel York – October 17, 2026  – The Marquee Series begins with one of musical theatre’s most versatile leading ladies, Rachel York.

A Drama Desk, Helen Hayes and Carbonell Award winner, York has starred on Broadway in City of Angels, Les Misérables, The Scarlet Pimpernel, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Head Over Heels, and, memorably, opposite Dame Julie Andrews in Victor/Victoria, for which York received the Drama Desk Award. Marc Kudisch – January 16, 2027 – On January 16, the spotlight turns to one of Broadway’s great leading men, Marc Kudisch.

A three-time Tony Award nominee, Kudisch earned nominations for his performances as Trevor Graydon in Thoroughly Modern Millie, Baron Bomburst in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, and Franklin Hart in 9 to 5. Most recently, he appeared as Lee Collins in the acclaimed Broadway production of Floyd Collins, his 16th Broadway show.

Kudisch’s remarkable career has spanned Broadway musicals and plays, opera, television, and film. His rich baritone, commanding stage presence, and singular sense of humor have made him equally at home in classic musical theatre, contemporary work, and concert performance.

Kerry Butler – April 17, 2027 –  The inaugural season concludes on April 17 with the irrepressible Kerry Butler, whose Broadway career includes an extraordinary collection of original roles.

Butler earned Tony and Drama League Award nominations for starring as Kira in Xanadu and has originated roles in Hairspray, Little Shop of Horrors, Catch Me If You Can, Beetlejuice, and Mean Girls. Her Broadway credits also include Rock of Ages,Disaster!, The Best Man, and Les Misérables.

Her work has made her one of Broadway’s most beloved musical-comedy performers, an actress capable of combining a soaring voice with warmth, wit, and a wonderfully individual comic sensibility.

Thrive Clermont Partners with the City of Clermont for First Annual Teens Got Talent Showcase. Thrive Clermont is proud to partner with the City of Clermont to provide local teens with an exciting opportunity to showcase their talents before an audience of up to 700 guests at the Clermont Performing Arts Center on October 22, 2026.
The inaugural Thrive Teens Got Talent Showcase promises to be an inspiring community event featuring a diverse lineup of talented young performers ages 13-18, including solo and group acts such as singers, dancers, musicians, a rock band, and an aerial artist.
In addition to the live performances, the event will highlight artwork created by dozens of local high school students, with pieces displayed throughout the venue.

Clermont Waterfront parkrun is a free, weekly, timed 5K held every Saturday at 7:30 AM at Lake Hiawatha Preserve (450 N. Lake Minneola Shores, Clermont, FL 34711). Fashion meets philanthropy this fall as the Clermont Woman’s Club. Members invite the community to its annual fashion show, “Empowered to Inspire: United to Make a Difference.”

Set for Saturday, October 24, the event will take place from noon to 2:30 pm at Gabby’s Banquet Hall, 699 S. Highway 27 in Clermont. Doors will open at 11:30 am, giving guests time to mix and mingle before enjoying an afternoon filled with fashion, friendship, and purpose.

More than just a runway event, the fashion show celebrates the power of women coming together to create positive change in their community.

Guests will enjoy a luncheon and gourmet desserts while taking in the latest fashions and connecting with fellow community members who share a passion for making a difference.

“Empowered to Inspire” reflects the club’s mission of bringing people together through service, leadership, and community engagement. Organizers hope the event will remind attendees that when people unite around a common purpose, they can create a lasting impact.

The City of Clermont is inviting local businesses, nonprofits, and community organizations to take part in this year’s Scaremont: Halloween on the Trail, a family-friendly Halloween celebration scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2026, from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm.

Applications are now available for organizations interested in hosting a Community Trick-or-Treat Booth along the event trail. City officials encourage participants to help create a fun, festive, and memorable experience for local families while showcasing their organizations to the community.

The cost to participate is $25 plus applicable taxes and fees, while nonprofit organizations may register for $10 with proof of tax-exempt status.Applications are available here!

As part of the event requirements, each participating organization must provide a minimum of 2,000 individually wrapped pieces of candy to ensure children enjoy a successful trick-or-treating experience throughout the evening.

In addition to distributing candy, organizations are encouraged to decorate their booths with family-friendly Halloween themes, interact with attendees, and offer promotional items or giveaways. The city notes that while promotional materials are welcome, the sale of products or merchandise will not be permitted during the event.

One of the highlights of Scaremont will be the Most Spooktacular “BOO”-th Contest, which gives organizations the opportunity to showcase their creativity. Event attendees will vote for their favorite trick-or-treat booth, with participants encouraged to go all out with imaginative decorations and engaging displays.

City officials say the event provides a unique opportunity for organizations to connect with residents while contributing to a safe and enjoyable Halloween tradition for Clermont families.

Organizations interested in participating can submit an application through the city’s event registration portal. U-Pick Flowers
Stroll through our sunflower, zinnia and seasonal cut flower fields to pick your own flowers.
Access to the flower fields is included with admission, but guests must pay for all flowers they pick. Flower availability will vary throughout the season based on weather, crop conditions and guest participation. Guests must pay for at that they pick, please only pick flowers you intend to purchase.
Pumpkins and Fall Décor
Visit our Pumpkin Barn to shop a wide variety of pumpkins and gourds in unique sizes, shapes and colors. Prices vary based on the size and type of each item. Please note that pumpkins are precut from the vine. After purchasing your pumpkins, leave them in our complimentary Pumpkin Holding Area while you continue enjoying the festival. Remember to pick them up before leaving the farm.

Thursday and Friday are general admission dates. Guests may arrive anytime between 11 AM and farm close.
Saturday and Sunday Tickets
Weekend tickets require a selected arrival time.
Your ticket is valid for entry beginning 15 minutes before your selected reservation time through farm close. You may stay until the farm closes once you enter. Please do not arrive more than 15 minutes before your selected time.
Ticket Changes, Transfers and Refunds
All ticket sales are final and nonrefundable.
If your plans change, you may edit your ticket for another available date or transfer it to a friend or family member. Changes are subject to ticket availability and any applicable price difference.
The person using the transferred ticket assumes all risks associated with participating in the event.

Join us for the 11th Annual Southern Hill Farms Fall Festival, taking place September 26 through November 22 on select Thursdays and every Friday through Sunday, plus Monday, October 12! Enjoy a day of fall fun on the farm with carnival rides, a corn maze, u-pick flowers, a petting zoo, live music, pumpkins, food trucks, seasonal treats, photo opportunities and more. Admission tickets are required for all guests ages 3 and older and must be purchased online before arrival. Tickets purchased in advance are $28.95 plus tax and applicable fees per guest, tickets purchased on the same day of the event are $29.95 plus tax and applicable fees. Admission tickets are not sold at the farm. Children 2 and under enter free and do not need a paid admission ticket. However, they must be included in the “Children 2 & Under” section of an accompanying adult’s ticket order.
