April marks the switch to seasonally adjusted hours for the MidWeek Market at Montverde, the area’s new Farmer’s Market held each Wednesday in the Town of Montverde’s Kirk Park. The event is now 11:00am–4:00pm every Wednesday. The new hours will result in vendors being added to the growing participation so selection and variety will increase for market guests.
The weekly Market takes place beneath sprawling mature Oak trees in Montverde’s heavily shaded Kirk Park. Montverde boasts Florida’s Green Mountain Scenic Byway (CR-455), and the park, in the middle of town at the stop light, is adjacent to this charming route. The market’s relaxed atmosphere currently offers up to twenty-five professional vendors who provide guests Farmer’s Market products such as fruit, veggies, fish, eggs, breads and other baked goods, seasonings and more. Vita Produce, 2-J’s Seafood, Yalaha Bakery, Coffee Shop of Horrors, Jay’s Italian Olive Salad, Captain Jo’s Fish Dips, I’m Nuts (Candied Nuts), and others are among the friendly “small business owners” offering their specialties to shoppers. Sampling is always available. Plus, visitors will find culinary delights from cultural foods to tasty snacks and desserts. Menu items include Shrimp, Fries, Fish & Chips, Chicken Tenders, Quiche, Ratatouille, Panini’s, Sausages, Indian Cuisine, Hot Dogs and more.
“We emphasize ‘Fresh & Unique in Montverde Every Week’ with outstanding quality as our focus,” says Market Manager Ron Smart. “Our vendors participate in markets throughout Florida every day, including Saturdays and Sundays. So we’re pleased they’ve committed to helping build this Wednesday Market in Montverde.” He adds, “We believe you’ll find what you want. And, that you’ll discover a few pleasant surprises.” He adds, “We’re constantly recruiting vendors. If you want an excellent product we don’t have it, we’ll work to get it into the Market for you!”
