The South Lake Chamber of Commerce hosted its second annual South Lake Business Awards Gala on April 18 at Bella Collina….AND THE WINNERS ARE
JOHN MOORE – Citizen of the Year Award. This award honors a person who displays extraordinary dedication to the community.
John is an active member of the Chamber, having served as Chair in 2011. He also serves on boards for Lake Emergency Management Services, Cornerstone Hospice, Community Foundation of South Lake, Central Florida Sports Commission, and Career Source Central Florida.
John spearheaded the decade-long effort to create the now vibrant Health Sciences Collegiate Academy and was a driving force behind getting the project approved and off the ground.
John serves as President of South Lake Hospital and Senior Vice President of Orlando Health. He is currently completing three expansion projects including two new campuses with free-standing emergency departments, outpatient services and medical office buildings as well as an emergency department and surgical expansion on the Clermont campus.
The Oakley Seaver Special Service Award. This award honors a nonprofit business that has contributed significantly to the community and created a lasting impact. The Clermont Battalion of the United States Naval Sea Cadet Corps received this year’s Oakley Seaver Special Service Award.
Clermont Battalion is a federally chartered non-profit youth organization for young people, ages 11 through 17 and is locally sponsored by the Clermont Police Department. This organization provides its participants with not only the motivation and encouragement to pursue their goals, but also assistance in achieving them. Over this past year, the organization has completed more than 1500 volunteer hours for our community.
Kyle Promotions received this year’s Heritage Award. This award recognizes a business that has shown continued contributions to the business community.
