Clermont Purchasing Director Freddy Suarez will host a seminar titled “How to Do Business with the City,” on Friday, April 27, from 10 am – 12 noon at the Council Chambers at City Hall located at 685 W. Montrose St.

The free seminar will cover the city’s purchasing policies, how to register as a vendor and how to submit bids. Participants will learn the difference between a Request for Bid, Request for Proposal and Request for Qualifications.

Each year, the city’s purchasing department oversees the acquisition of millions of dollars’ worth of products and services. City governments solicit competitive prices for supplies, equipment and services through a standardized solicitation process in accordance with Florida Statutes.

“Companies are often intimidated or confused about doing business with local government,” Suarez said. “Our goal is to take the mystery out of the process. We welcome vendors of all sizes to the seminar.”

To register for the free seminar, call 352-241-7350 or email mrodriguez@clermontfl.org.
