Darrell Ray Reeves, Clermont, Florida, was born on November 12, 1958 in Louisville, Kentucky to Patricia Reeves (deceased) and Bobby Reeves. He left this earth but not our hearts on April 19, 2018. He is survived by his father, Bobby Reeves; two sons, Adam Reeves and Sam Reeves; sister, Carol Reeves and nephew, Jason Helander; 2nd family: Chris, Cindy and Hunter Davis and Taylor Peters.
Darrell retired from Duke Electric, formerly Florida Power, as a Troubleman in 2014 where he worked for 35 years. He was Vice President for Local 1412 for the Union for years. He worked at Chick-fil-a and the City of Clermont after his retirement. Darrell served his country as a Marine during the 1970s.
Darrell was known for his compassion for others. He did not have a selfish bone in his body. He would give his last dollar to help someone other than himself. If you knew him well and he liked you, he probably had a nickname for you. He especially loved his two boys. He was so proud of them. They were his entire life. He lived and breathed to give them the best life ever. Those closest to him will remember him as the master of the grill and he loved to cook for others. Darrell was a simple man, but a very wise man. He always thought that everyone should do what was right and fair, traits that were very evident during his job as a representative of the union. He enjoyed being on the lake, boating, jet skiing, swimming or just looking at the beauty of it. He would want us to remember the good times and to not be sad. He never wanted anyone to “fuss” over him. He will be greatly missed but will live on in our hearts.
Please join us in celebrating Darrell’s life on Sunday, April 29th at Real Life Christian Church, Building A, 1501 Steve’s Rd., Clermont, FL 34711 at 2:30 p.m. (reception to follow). As a tribute to Darrell, signature attire requested: jeans and flip flops.
