Vianca Patino

Meet Vianca Patino

THE SOUTH LAKE TABLET is proud to announce a new addition to our team: our summer intern, Vianca Patino. Vianca graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2015 from East Ridge High School and received her AA degree in general studies from Valencia College in 2017. She transferred to Florida International University where she just finished her spring semester and is in the process of transferring to UCF for the fall semester. Vianca is majoring in Journalism and is still deciding on a minor.

TABLET:  Why did you choose Journalism as a major?

Vianca:  I love interviewing people and getting to the bottom of the story. I would like to become an entertainment reporter and eventually work for E! News. I hope to graduate next fall 2019 and, after graduating, I plan on working for a news station to gain experience and network with people who I hope will lead me to find a job in the entertainment business.

If your goal is achieved, the TABLET can boast that “Vianca Patino” was once on the Tablet Team! Tell me what you enjoy doing when you aren’t deep diving into a story.

Vianca: In my spare time, I love spending time with my family and going to the gym.

TABLET: We are so excited to have you work with us. Why did you choose the Tablet?

Vianca:  I decided to accept the position as an intern for the South Lake Tablet because it is online based which I find unique only because this will be our future. Also, I wanted to know what is it like working in a small local business that relates to my major to help me gain experience. I am excited to be able to write news stories for them and get involved in the South Lake community more.

TABLET: Were you born and raised in the South Lake Area?

Vianca: I was born in Maracaibo, Venezuela and moved to the United States in 2004, when I was only 7 years old. I come from a hard-working family who decided to move to this country to find a better life and a better future due to the conditions in Venezuela. I’ve been in Clermont for about 14 years now.

Vianca, Thank you for choosing the South Lake Tablet for your internship and your interest in getting involved in the South Lake Community.  The South Lake Tablet and the Community are here to help you achieve your goal.
