Starting on the South Lake Campus in August 2018, Lake-Sumter State College is partnering with Redd Ash Technologies to provide students with the opportunity to gain real-world experience in programming, digital/IP security, network engineering, and IT infrastructure.

“Student interns will have the opportunity to work with us on challenging and unique projects that require innovative solutions,” says Rommel Roberts, CEO of Redd Ash. “We will expose students to leading-edge technologies to give them the skills needed to be highly competitive in the workforce.”

In addition to its Apopka headquarters, Redd Ash will establish an innovation hub on the South Lake Campus allowing LSSC students to participate in the company’s projects. Students will also be able to participate in manufacturer/vendor training events and complete certifications from these vendors.

“This collaboration with Redd Ash brings our computer information technology degree to the next level,” says Dr. Stanley Sidor, LSSC President. “Our students will now have access to advanced technologies being used in a real-world setting. I am confident that this will make our graduates significantly more competitive in the job market.”

“Today’s IT is far beyond traditional networks and just working on servers,” said Roberts. “There is a massive need for talented individuals to fill high-paying jobs in IT fields such as digital security.”

In Central Florida, Redd Ash has clients across many industries including aerospace, education, and theme parks. The company designed a wireless solution to create a mobility network for the operation of the autonomous vehicles at a local theme park.  To learn more about Redd Ash and some of their projects, visit reddashtech.com.
