For the 5th year, The Florida Scrub-Jay Trail in partnership with Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, Fish Florida and Florida Youth Conservation Center Network will be conducting three week-long Fishing and Basic Boating Skills Day Camp On June  4 -8, June 11 -15, and  June 18 -22.

Fishing from boats is a thrill as campers, ages 9 to 15, enjoy a week of fishing instruction and boating skills training. Topics to be covered include how to fish, fish biology, catch and release techniques, fish habitats, boating safety and navigation, oaring and trolling motor operation, types of tackle, types of knots and casting.

Each participant will go home with their own rod, reel and tackle box complete with all the tackle they need during the camp.

The week winds up with tournaments and Fish Fry and boating excursions for the campers and their families.

Tuition for the camp is $225 or $215 if paid by cash or check. Acceptance is on a first come- first served basis and class size is limited.
