It’s time to choose the 2019-20 student calendar! The district’s calendar committee has developed two student calendar options. Parents, students, and community residents are invited to review the two options and vote on the one that is preferred. Public voting will close at 5 pm on Wednesday, June 6.

District employees were given access to a separate link earlier in May. We’d like to distinguish employee results from the community results, so we’re asking that only non-employees take the survey this week.

The options are similar – one starts school on a Monday and offers a week-long Thanksgiving break, while the other starts school on a Thursday and offers a three-day Thanksgiving break. A summary is shown below.

OPTION 1:

  • School starts Monday, Aug. 12, 2019.
  • Veterans Day, Nov. 11, 2019, is a student holiday.
  • One week off around Thanksgiving – Monday, Nov. 25 – Friday, Nov. 29, 2019
  • Winter break begins Friday, Dec. 20, 2019, with classes resuming Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2020
  • Spring Break – March 16-20, 2020
  • Last day of classes – Friday, May 29, 2020

See Option 1 in detail here.

OPTION 2:

  • School starts Thursday, Aug. 15, 2019.
  • Veterans Day, Nov. 11, 2019, is not a student holiday.
  • Three days off around Thanksgiving – Wednesday, Nov. 27 – Friday, Nov. 29, 2019
  • Winter break begins Friday, Dec. 20, 2019, with classes resuming Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2020
  • Spring Break – March 16-20, 2020
  • Last day of classes – Friday, May 29, 2019

The survey link is posted on the district website, and its Facebook and Twitter pages. It is also available here.
