It may be summertime, but on Saturday morning, June 16, the 123 Clermont waterfront parkrunners weren’t sleeping in. It was a humid but beautiful morning as runners, joggers, and walkers set off at 7:30 am to complete the 3.1-mile course along Lake Minneola. This week we had 23 first timers, 12 new Personal Bests, and representatives of 12 different clubs. Now that school is out, we have also been seeing an influx of local high school and middle school runners coming out to run.

Thirteen-year-old Lily not only finished as the first female but the first overall runner as well. She came in at an impressive 19:51. The second place female was Charlotte Earl in a new PB of 20:21. This was also her 50th parkrun, congrats Charlotte!  Another junior, Reagan Parks, ran a 22:06 to finish third place.

Congrats to everyone who ran today, and hopefully we will see you next weekend!

Leading the male finishers was parkrun regular Josh Castleman with a solid time of 19:56. Second place was John Turner in 20:12 and rounding out the top three was Adam Roberston. Visiting from the UK, Adam came in for third with a 20:24.

The Clermont Waterfront Parkrun takes place every Saturday morning at 7:30 am.  It starts at Lake Hiawatha Preserve, 450 12th St, Clermont, FL 34711. This is a FREE event open to people of all levels. Please come out to join us!
