“Into the Woods” is a fun and fanciful tale with a lesson of “be careful what you wish for” in Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s Brothers Grimm inspired musical. This adventure follows the Baker and his wife on a journey into the woods to reverse a curse a witch cast that is keeping them childless. Along the way, they meet some beloved fairytale characters including Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel, and Jack, who are all on their own quests. When things seem to be going happily ever after, an angry Giant has the potential to change how happy happily ever after will be.

The final production on the Montverde Academy stage for the season will be the timeless Shakespearean tale of “Romeo and Juliet.” The story tells of the long-standing feud between the Montague and Capulet families causing an uproar in Verona, but ill-fated Romeo and Juliet don’t care what their parents say – true love cannot be denied! Follow this epic tragedy through revenge, love, defiance, and deception, making this one of Shakespeare’s most works.
