All offices of the Lake County Board of County Commissioners, Property Appraiser, Supervisor of Elections, Tax Collector and Clerk of Court; the Lake County Animal Shelter; the Lake County Extension Center and Discovery Gardens; and all 15 Lake County Library System libraries will be closed on Monday, Sept. 3 in observance of Labor Day.

LakeXpress, the county’s fixed-route bus system, will not operate on the holiday. Lake County Connection, the county’s disadvantaged transportation service, will provide dialysis service only.

All Lake County Solid Waste operations, including residential collection services, customer service, the Central Landfill Facility and residential drop-offs, will also be closed on Monday, Sept. 3. Residential collections for citizens living in unincorporated Lake County (not within municipal city limits) will shift to the following day for the entire week, and Friday collection will be on Saturday.

For residents in certain communities with twice-per-week garbage collection, regular pickups for the remainder of the holiday week will also occur one day later for each of the two pickups.

Any excess trash, either bagged or placed into a non-county trash cart, will be accepted during the holiday week only between Sept. 4 and Sept. 8. No hazardous waste items will be collected.

For more information about the county’s residential curbside collection services, contact Lake County Solid Waste at 352-343-3776, email garbagecollection@lakecountyfl.gov, or visit www.lakecountyfl.gov/garbagecollection.
